I was terrified of him at age 2 when we saw it in the movie theater, and I’m still freaked out by him. I don’t know how anyone can think he’s cute or endearing. The Skeksis are hideous and evil, by Fizzgig had many teeth and just friggin’ screamed at you. The first movie monster I saw in the movie that scared me was Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal, even more than the Skeksis. But having seen the movies later in life I can say that while they are in no way scary (mostly dumb, though in a surprisingly watchable way) part of me tenses a bit when I think Chucky is going to appear on screen. I was really easy to scare as a kid, but as a grown man, there are very few films that make me feel scared.
